Early on the morning of June 9th, Griffin's government announced the abolition of the anti-Mutant laws passed by former president McCannials. Needless to say, this announcement has met with extremely mixed feelings--one half of the country is rejoicing, and the other half is revolting. And with all undue respect, it's perfectly clear why they are doing so.
The laws of McCannials, while you may or may not agree with them, were laws that were put in place following the constitutional process that we all have come to know and love in the two hundred and forty-five years that we have had them. And now, we have found ourselves with a new president who is perfectly comfortable coming into the system and rejecting the system, who vows to govern us within the brackets of the constitution, and instead of doing just that, by following the law to change the law, what does he do? Well, our dear president tears down laws with no motion to protect laws.
Whether you are anti-Mutant, pro-Mutant, neutral or even a mutant yourself, you cannot stand by and let the country's trust be defied in such a manner. And you may be happy with the result, but you cannot allow the means to go unpunished. If this were the opposite case, the pro-Mutants and their supporters would be roaring in anger at what he pulled. But it isn't, so call me the devil's advocate or call me a misguided journalist trying to push her views onto others, but if you aren't an ignorant school child who just wants their own way with no care for how you get it, you'll see just what is wrong with this picture.
